Our new wheels
So it's out with the old and in with the new, even though the two have shared a garage for the last week (Lady still needs to be put up for sale).
We bought a 2005 Honda Odyssey, that happened to come with a lot of bells and whistles: power sliding doors, 6 disc CD Changer, DVD player, Sunroof, Leather seats (that are heated for the driver and passenger), an 8th PlusOne seat that locks into the aisle between the center row captains chairs (this sounds like an ad for the car), fold flat 3rd row, and for the kids the very important jungle-gym feature of climbing from the front to the back and generally taking advantage of all the space.
And for your glimpse of the interior we also have our first naps in the New Mini-Van (Nate loves to tell anyone that his Mom got a new Mini-Van, and Ella loves pointing out every other van she sees on the road, while Zac just really, really wants to sit in the 3rd row.)
We're super excited to have new car--a bigger car--and to have been fortunate enough to have saved our pennies in order to buy it. Woo-hoo!

Easter Weekend=Family Road Trip
This Easter Weekend was a little unconventional at the Richards. We took a road trip to some favorite places--The US Space and Rocket Center & Opryland Hotel--and to the Atlanta Temple open house--the main reason for our adventure.
First Stop-US Space and Rocket Center. Our kids love anything that flies, so super tall rockets are basically really awesome in their book.
This model of the Lunar Rover was Nathan's favorite part of the Rocket Center when we visited 2 years ago. He would talk about now and again. So, when we mentioned that we were going to the Rocket Center his first question was "can I play with that car thing?" (The model shows how the rover had to fold up to fit inside the Lunar Lander.)
Then the kids practiced being astronauts on mars, in space suits. (Zac is laughing, not crying.)
(The irony of all this astronaut practice is that both Nate and Ella pray every night that they can grow-up to be astronauts.)
"A, guys, what comes out of there?"
After our adventures in space we drove on to Atlanta.
In the morning we went to the temple open-house. The kids favorite parts were the mirrors, pictures of Jesus, and the chandeliers. It is very beautiful inside and the kids are excited to one day get married in a temple.
For the afternoon we road the 'subway-train' in to Downtown Atlanta. (Another favorite--trains.)
...and played in the fountains at Cenntenial Park--a tribute to the 1996 Olympic Games.
...Then there was playing on the roller slide
...And a nap on the train as we headed back.
For the evening, we went back to the temple, again. We love to take advantage of our opportunities.
After a good nights sleep, a little visit from the Easter Bunny, Sacrament Meeting and a few hours in the car we stopped at another family favorite Opryland Hotel, where we explored the indoor gardens for a few hours...
...and ate some dinner over looking the fountains, before jumping back in the car and finishing our ride home.
Yay for fun family weekends--minus the 'are we there yets' and some-sometimes tired, and a little bit cranky kids.
