We have entered a new phase of parenthood this week; we have taken our first trip to the Urgent Care (luckily they were still open).
Wednesday night, while taking a shower, Nathan slipped while using the bar of soap to wash his feet. It was a pretty loud crash. Mom came in assessed the situation and found he had bit his cheek and was bleeding from his mouth. Nate finished his shower, got dried off and was putting on his jams when Mom (finally) noticed there was blood on his chin (good one Mom). Upon further inspection Mom said, "we're going to have to go to the hospital. Your chin needs stiches". Nathan was a little suprised, wanted to know if it would hurt ( "A little bit, probably.") then dutifully put on his shoes and got in the car.
Nate, Ella, Zac, and Mom only waited ten minutes to be seen (phew), the doctor said his chin bone had hit so hard it split the skin open. The nurse put in 4 stiches and then lets us know (Dad had arrived from work by now) that Nate was the best 4 year old patient ever. He didn't even move when she did the deadening shot.
