Today was 1st Baby Boy's, first day of Kindergarten. He has been excited for Kindergarten for weeks. He would ask who is teacher was, long before we knew. He was excited about buying school supplies. And very excited when mom came home with a new, big, backpack (do you know how much stuff fits in that thing?). Ella has also been very excited, thinking she will get to go to Kindergarten too. Although, she has come to the understanding that she will be staying home until she gets big enough to go to Kindergarten.
As a treat, Nate picked a pop tart for breakfast and was very proud.
His teacher gave him a name tag, and set him to work with some playdoh. (Only a few of the kids come each day during the first week so the teacher can orient them with out too much trouble. And he has all day Kindergarten. We don't understand why, [other than it makes a great babysitter] but that's how Tennessee does it.)
Nathan has always wanted to ride the bus to school, ever since he knew what a bus was. Sooo, he gets to ride the bus home. He was very excited this morning, and had a big grin when he got off. He told mom that the bus was kind of bouncy.
Nathan's bus driver has the Kindergartners sit in the front of the bus. As she opened the door today she said, "Nathan is this your stop? Do you see your Mom?" Mom waved in response and Nate jumped of the bus.
A funny story about the bus: We tried to get Nate to memorize his bus number over the weekend. We were constantly asking what his number was. Then yesterday we see a school bus driving down the road and Ella says, "Is that bus 52?"
